Working with patients in a clinical setting, such as a hospital or nursing home, requires special patient care skills that may not be required in a doctor's office or clinic. Obtain these skills through Kaplan Career Institute–ICM campus's medical assisting management with patient care services program.
Career Training
In this specialized career track, you will take the same core courses required in our medical assisting management program. In addition, your curriculum includes an additional quarter with five additional courses to develop your skills in patient care services. Those courses include:
- Basic Patient Service Skills
- Patient Care and Safety
- Restorative Care
- Home Health and Special Care Services
- Gerontology
Prior to graduation, you will be required to complete an externship to gain real-world job experience.
