What Will You Do as a Network Administrator?
Network administrators must be able to think logically, evaluate system performance, and make effective recommendations for system revisions. Duties vary with the size of the company and may include:
- Assigning network addresses
- Assigning routing protocols and routing table configurations
- Configuring authentication and authorization
- Designing, maintaining, and monitoring the network
- Managing system files, log-on scripts, and printer allocation
- Maintaining a log for each account on the network
- Maintaining databases on the network
